Life Options Network: A Lifeline for Moms in Need
Life can change in an instant, and for many young mothers, navigating the challenges of parenthood without support can be overwhelming. Jenny Hoffman, the founder of Life Options Network, knows this reality all too well. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, she witnessed firsthand how difficult it was for young mothers to access the resources they needed to thrive. Now, with four successful locations across the U.S., Jenny has opened her fifth and first Tennessee-based branch in Mt. Juliet, offering critical support for local moms in need.
A Personal Mission Rooted in Experience
Jenny’s passion for supporting mothers began early in life. At just 13 years old, a close friend was raped and became pregnant. Despite the circumstances, this young mother made wise choices, defying the odds to graduate college and become a registered nurse. At 18, Jenny saw another friend struggle through an unexpected pregnancy, unable to find the support she needed. Later, Jenny spent nearly eight years helping a third friend—a hardworking single mother—who faced homelessness multiple times due to the financial strain of raising a child alone. This woman made too much money to qualify for assistance but not enough to afford rent, childcare, and basic necessities. Through these experiences, Jenny realized that too many mothers fall through the cracks. She was determined to find a better way to help.
A Safe Haven for Moms
Life Options Network in Mt. Juliet offers a storefront where mothers can access essential baby and child items for free. Donations are accepted on Wednesdays, and moms can schedule shopping appointments twice a year, with an additional exchange appointment for items their children outgrow. The store provides everything from newborn to 5T clothing, car seats, high chairs, strollers, bassinets, and cribs—ensuring that no child has to go without the basics.
Beyond material support, Life Options Network takes a holistic approach by providing each mom with an advocate. These advocates assist with securing jobs, housing, food, childcare, and transportation. They also offer budgeting education to help moms build a stable future.
Special Support for Teen Parents
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by teen parents, Life Options Network hosts a Teen Parent Night where young moms and dads can shop for free. Additionally, teen parents receive monthly supplies of diapers, wipes, and formula. Each mother can receive up to $5,000 in benefits annually, helping to ease the financial burden and set them on a path toward self-sufficiency.
Hope Fest: A Community Fundraiser
To continue providing these invaluable services, Life Options Network relies on community support. Their biggest fundraising event, Hope Fest, will take place on May 17th at Breeden’s Orchard. This event is an opportunity for the community to come together, support a worthy cause, and help ensure that struggling mothers have the resources they need.
How You Can Help
There are many ways to support Life Options Network. Community members can donate baby and child items or contribute financially to sustain the organization’s mission. For those interested in getting involved, visiting the Mt. Juliet location or attending Hope Fest is a great way to make a difference.
