Welcome to The Village Play Place: Lebanon’s Newest Hub for Kids and Community
Step inside The Village Play Place in Lebanon, Tennessee, and you’ll quickly see why it’s more than just an indoor play space for children ages 7 and under. It’s a haven for families—a place where parents can relax with a cup of coffee while their little ones explore, imagine, and play without screens. Misty and Corey, the owners, have built something special, inspired by their own journey and fueled by a passion for creating community.
A Dream Born from Experience
The idea for The Village Play Place began to take shape during a pivotal time in Misty and Corey’s lives. After moving to Nashville in 2013 and later settling in Mount Juliet, the family found themselves longing for a place where both kids and parents could thrive. The COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020 prompted a temporary move back to Louisiana to be closer to family, but it wasn’t long before they realized Tennessee was where they truly belonged.
“We missed the sense of community here,” Misty shared. “In those two years back in Louisiana, the idea for this business started forming, but we knew it wasn’t the right time. Once we moved back to Tennessee in 2022, it felt like everything fell into place.”
When Corey was laid off about 15 months ago, the couple decided to revisit their vision for The Village Play Place. Lebanon, with its rapid growth and influx of new families, proved to be the perfect location. “So many people here are transplants without immediate family nearby,” Misty explained. “We wanted to create a space where parents could find their village and kids could just be kids.”
Play, Learn, and Celebrate
The Village Play Place is more than just an indoor playground. It’s a thoughtfully designed space where children can explore their creativity and develop social skills through play. From imaginative play areas to physical activities, the environment is screen-free and full of opportunities for kids to thrive.
For parents, there’s a cozy coffee shop corner where they can enjoy a moment of calm, connect with other adults, or catch up on work while their children play safely nearby. The Village Play Place also hosts birthday parties, making it a go-to destination for memorable celebrations.
Exciting New Programs
Starting soon, The Village Play Place will launch a drop-off program for children ages 3 and 4. Parents can enroll their little ones for one, two, or three days a week, choosing the days that work best for their schedules. This program will be led by Kathy Lawson of Little Shoes Academy, a K-8 certified teacher of all subjects and high school language arts teacher. Kathy’s Christian-based preschool curriculum will offer children a nurturing and educational experience, making the program a trusted choice for families.
