Easy Christmas Cookie Recipes Kids Will Love

The holidays are a magical time, and what better way to create lasting memories with your little ones than baking Christmas cookies together? These easy-to-make recipes are perfect for kids and parents alike, combining festive fun with delicious results. Roll up your sleeves, grab your mixing bowls, and let the holiday baking begin!





1. Classic Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool completely before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.





2. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions:

  1. Mix cocoa, sugar, and oil in a large bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  2. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the cocoa mixture.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat generously in powdered sugar.
  5. Place on baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.





3. Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 48 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Beat sugars, peanut butter, and butter in a bowl. Add the egg and mix well.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Cool completely.





4. No-Bake Cornflake Wreaths

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 30 large marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 4 cups cornflakes
  • Red cinnamon candies or mini M&Ms

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter and marshmallows in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Add green food coloring and mix well.
  2. Gently fold in cornflakes until coated.
  3. Drop spoonful's of the mixture onto wax paper and shape into wreaths with lightly greased fingers.
  4. Decorate with red candies and let set.





5. Easy Gingerbread Men

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • Icing and candies for decorating

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and molasses.
  3. Gradually mix in dry ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out gingerbread men.
  5. Place on baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool and decorate as desired.
